Prior to SVP, Allison worked with the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center and AIDS/LifeCycle for over 10 years as a Project Manager. She holds an M.A. in Management from the University of Redlands and a B.A. in Communications – Public Relations. In addition to her work with SVPLA, Allison is a certified yoga + meditation teacher and community organizer who offers classes and workshops throughout the L.A. area. She believes that increased access to wellbeing and self-care practices in work and community can help foster a more connected and loving world. Allison is Chair of the Board of Directors for ProjectQ, a Los Angeles-based non-profit that provides gender affirming haircuts and education to LGBTQIA+ youth experiencing houselessness. He diverted from his original career path after living in the Middle East during the September 11th attacks and subsequent invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. He instead focused his skillset and passion on building community power through political organizing, digital strategy, and the arts. Prior to joining SVP, Frank served as the Communications and Design Manager at United Way of Greater Los Angeles and helped launch the Everyone In campaign that seeks to build the public and political will necessary to create more supportive and affordable housing across L.A. County. Everyone In is a broad-based effort to activate millions of Angelenos to support real solutions to ending our homelessness and housing crisis. Frank wore many hats while at United Way, including developing a workshop and town hall series, making fundraising pitch decks for multimillion-dollar grants, DJing big events, video production, and content creation. Alina has been a trusted advisor to execs and teams at companies including AT&T, Gap, Disney, and Sony. She helped implement the marketing functions at Jigsaw that was later acquired by Salesforce for $175M. And more recently she designed the Founders Business Accelerator for the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) to bring the best business resources in the city to underserved businesses – a project sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. Since 2011 Alina has been a coach for the SVPLA Fast Pitch. This is work that has connected her with 120+ nonprofit leaders. Amber’s specific areas of expertise include capital campaigns, individual fundraising, constituent/donor relations, strategic planning and executive/board development. Before forming Sheikh/Impact, Amber was the Managing Senior Associate at Thurlow/Associates, where she provided strategic counsel and assistance to nonprofit clients working in health, human services, social justice, and other fields. Prior to her nine year tenure at Thurlow/Associates, Amber managed individual donor portfolios, foundation and government relations for Marymount California University. She also served on the fund development teams of two prominent homeless service agencies — Downtown Women’s Center and Children Today. Earlier in her career, Amber worked in Sacramento with the California State Assembly. Her international experience includes work with a United Nations women’s microfinance Non-Government Organization in Delhi, India, and with Women’s Edge Coalition. Amber is also very active in her community. Amber was appointed to the Harbor Area Planning Commission by Mayor Eric Garcetti, as well as serving on the Mayor’s Harbor-area Homelessness Organizing Committee. She also helped form and continues to coordinate the Council District 15 Working Group on Homelessness, which has successfully brought together diverse stakeholders to support solutions to end homelessness. Amber also serves as a board member of Social Venture Partners LA and the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. And, she sits on the advisory council of Maternal Mental Health Now and the Assistance League of San Pedro South Bay. In 2019 Amber was chosen as LA City Council District 15’s Woman of the Year for her work on homelessness and gender equity. She is also the 2019 recipient of the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award for her work championing solutions to end homelessness in South Los Angeles. With mentorship from local leaders, Helen became the first person in her family to go to college. After nearly a decade on the East Coast, Helen is honored to be back in her hometown investing the privilege of her education and work experience back into neighborhoods like the one where she grew up. Helen joined LA-Más because of her passion to explore strategies that minimize displacement pressures that come with gentrification. Helen provides leadership at LA-Más by ensuring all projects are grounded in local need and systemic change. Prior to consulting, Kaci held several entry-to-executive-level roles, leading capacity building, education advocacy and social justice initiatives at the local, state, national and international levels. In addition to managing multi-million-dollar grant-making portfolios in the United States and abroad, Kaci pioneered capacity building programs, professional development and organizational initiatives that served networks of grassroots organizers, community advocates and over 1,000 civil society leaders and public officials.
